Canon City, CO

We had such a great vacation. We got to spend some time in Canon City, CO with my sister, Mandy and her family. They were so great as tour guides and we did a lot of fun things in the short time we were there. Here are some pictures of the Royal Gorge at look out point, the Holy Cross Abbey Winery, in the creek at Red Canyon and at the hotel pool. The kids had a great time and the weather was beautiful. Thanks Kolmans for showing us a great time! Can't wait to come back and do some more stuff on the list.

Rascal Flatts Concert

Well this picture was the best we have and it was at the end of the night. Liz and I went to the Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift concert on Saturday night and had a blast. We did not take the camera in because I had read somewhere no cameras. I should have just done it anyway because everyone else had theirs. Oh well, next time, because there will be a next time. We had so much fun and screamed and sang really loud just like everyone else there. We felt like we were in high school or college again screaming at Joe Don as he played the heck out of that guitar. Taylor Swift is such a doll and so very talented. Rascal Flatts was everything we thought they would be and even more. This was a night we will never forget and always cherish as best friends. Next time we decided we were taking the truck, some chairs, some beverages and tailgating with everyone else in the parking lot. What a fun night! Thank you Liz for being such a great friend and thank you for making it fun.

Swim Lessons

Carson is taking swim lessons with his friends Sidney and Jackson. They are having fun and all doing well. Sidney and Carson are in class together and I laugh when I watch them. Sidney glides across the water like a beautiful swan and Carson swims across like a frog. I guess that is just the difference between girls and boys. Just one more week and we are done and ready to go on vacation. I will post pictures of Colorado and Nebraska when we get back. I am hoping for cooler weather.

Surgery a Success

Well Holden is out of surgery and recovering. Everything went well and he is taking pedialyte by bottle now and seems to be holding it down. Back to the formula is soon. We have so much to be thankful for. Thank you for all your prayers. See the official update on Melodie's blog. www.ourgrowingfamily02.blogspot.com

Prayers for Holden

For those of who don't know, my baby sister and her husband adopted a beautiful baby boy just over a month ago. What a blessed miracle he is. He has been doing great, but had what everyone was thinking might be reflux. They went in for an upper GI yesterday morning and found out it was something a little more. He was diagnosed with Pyloric Stenosis. This is a condition where the baby's pylorus(muscle in the stomach)gradually swells and thickens and interferes with food entering the intestines, thus where the projectile spitting up was coming from. They admitted him yesterday and after working on him all day and finally having to take him to surgery to get the IV in, he is now doing better and getting fluids for the dehydration. He is hungry and can't have anything to eat so is getting a little fussy. They are doing the surgery on him this afternoon and should be back to eating in the next 24 hours. So this blog today is for everyone who reads it to begin praying for Holden and the family. Pray for the Drs and nurses and everyone involved in making him better. The surgery will fix it and he should be home in a few days. He is at Childrens Hospital in OKC, so we know he is in great hands. Thank you in advance for all your prayers. You can go to Melodie's blog(Our Growing Family) from my blog to read their story.

Guitar Hero and Carson

Here is Carson playing Guitar Hero. He has been practicing and trying to get one song down. I am amazed at his skill. Remember he is only 5.

Sweetness

The boys had on their matching PJ's tonight so I had to get a picture before bed. Is that sweetness or what?

More Teeth

Well I finally got a picture worth posting of his new teeth. He now has a big 6 teeth. He is tight lipped about showing them. So you have to catch them when he laughs. He was cracking up at Daddy of course, who else. Sorry this will be as good as it gets.
I just thought this expression was so cute. Daddy was giving him a bath and Cameron loves his baths.

My Sweet Boys

Does anyone else think this is so funny?! Cameron had just awoke from a nap and this is one of Carson's favorite times when Cameron will sit still and let Bubba hold him. Carson just loves to cuddle with him, but it is getting harder and harder to do that as you can see. Cameron looks huge in his lap. I just had to get a picture and then laugh.

More with Holden

Here is Cameron going in for another kiss for Holden. The first time it was on his head and he got a mouth full of hair and a tickle on the nose. So we grabbed the camera and tried again. It was so sweet and he was so gentle.
Here is my sister aka Aunt Mel and Uncle J with all the boys. Holden decided he was done with pictures and wanted to eat so of course we let him.

Here is one with us and Holden. The babies were both sleepy.

This is another one of my favorite pictures.

I bought the babies matching baseball outfits so we had to get a picture.

Look at Holden looking up at Carson. Carson could not wait to get there and hold him. He says we need another baby because Cameron is not really a baby anymore. We say NO!!!

This was one of my favorite pictures last weekend. Holden was awake and Cameron was giving us a little smile.

Holden

Here is the newest addition to our family. My baby sister and brother-in-law just adopted this beautiful baby boy a little over three weeks ago. We went to visit and love on him last weekend for Memorial Day weekend. Carson just loved him and Cameron was not sure what to think.
